My favorite thing isn't even a menu item, its the fire roasted salsa! It is fantastic! The took on the menu is decent but a little high priced for my tastes. I feel like you pay for the atmosphere tho. But I say the same thing about Ted's. In the summer the patio is a great place to unwind. The one thing I can say that puts them above many other patios in Tulsa is that they consistently have good bands on the patio. I particularly like Rockfish, they are entertaining to watch, play a good variety, and there is a little girl who sometimes sings with them that is adorable!

Love this place. Great people. The best place to eat here is in the Bar. Bartenders are fun

GOOD ON YA No complaints. We were there with a party of like 12 for a bachelorette dinner. Despite the large party, our service was SUPER. Since no one else was a drinker, my sister and I snuck off to the bar and also had great service there. Nice dudes. Affable and good pourers. At the table, we showed off with gynor margs -- AWARD WINNING MARGS - we were told, and they didn't disappoint AT ALL. And really still cheap at 10 bucks. I've paid 15 for non award winning margs, much smaller, and lower shelf liquor. WAY TO BE CHEAP OKLAHOMA We had some sort of fried avocado dish which was YUM. My sister opened all of her slutty clothing at the table and no one complained. Lace and Mexican food must go together handily. ew.

I absolutely LOVE los Cabos. The atomsphere is divine, the service is swift, and the food is always amazing. I love the original salsas.

I have eaten here a few times now when we jaunt over to Tulsa for the day. We sat at the bar last night versus waiting over an hour to be seated. The bartenders, and there were several, were On. Their. Game and were fantastic. We were served quickly. Enjoyed fajitas which were great. The live music is always a nice touch...just makes it more "authentic" even if the food is not so much. Guac is good! My only downer is the salsa, just not to my taste

Severely overpriced. You can get equally good food and far better margaritas at El Tequilla or Senior Tequilla... Was not impressed with my food - nothing bad, just not impressive considering the price compared to the other Mexican restaurants I've gone to.

Great food and great service. Place wasn't full so the food got our right away. If you pass by definitely good food

Always great food, service and margaritas! I tried the strawberry rum margarita for the first time last night and it was delicious. I do have to say though that if you want to go enjoy the weather on a patio with friends I wouldn't recommend going when they have a band. We went last night and I woke up with out a voice because the music was so extremely loud I had to scream to talk to my friends at the other side of the table. Even when the band would take a break they had club music blasting. Not my idea of a nice night out enjoying the spring weather.

We love love love this place. We now live inTexas near the Mexican border and you just can't get food like this down there. In Tulsa seeing friends and family and just HAD to eat at Los Cabos. There were 5 of us and the food was outstanding. Served hot and on time. I won't come to Tulsa without eating here. Margaritas were just like I make them at home.. Excellent service too. My hearts on fire for Los Cabos!

The food here is good but not anything special. It is a typical Mexican restaurant for this area. On certain nights there is live music and a clown that makes balloon animals. They really need to get rid of the clown because clowns scare people. If you're not afraid just go watch Stephen King's It.

As far as this place goes I rather enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the customer service was excellent. Our waiter was super patient with me while I was trying to hold our son and make room for food on the table and even arranged everything for me after seeing how frustrated I was. The food was super fast to arrive, like the quickest food I have ever received. It also wasn't too full for a Sunday evening which was rather nice. We ordered fajitas and ribs and they were really tasty and quite filling. The reason I gave it 4 stars was because of how difficult it was to get comfortable. The tables were so close together I could hardly get out of my seat and when my son cried there was no where close to the table i could stand and comfort him. The other reason I gave 4 stars was because it didn't have the feeling of a Mexican restaurant and a lot of the food didn't have that authentic Mexican feel. It really felt more like a fancy restaurant with burritos on the menu.

It's been a while since we visited this place but it was a fave of ours for a while. I took pride in ordering the dinner for two and taking it out like it wasn't anything. The seating was fast, the staff were great. We went on a weekend and there was a clown working the tables that my daughter really enjoyed. The food was tasty and came pretty quick. We'd go back but we have found another new fave in the BA that we can't pass up.

Went there for lunch. Food was fast. I had the combo fajita and it was very good. The salsa that comes with the chips is really good and more of a herb taste than just tomatos.

We went on a Thursday evening, the parking lot looked full but there were tons of empty tables, we got seated immediately. My husband enjoyed the queso, and he is picky about queso. I got the fish tacos, with black beans and Mexican rice. I was impressed with the quality, as I am usually not a fan of franchise Mexican food. The fish in the tacos was breaded and fried which was unexpected, but tasty. The black beans were not too salty, and the rice was tasty. The service was excellent, they brought my husband a second coke before he had drained the first, which always guarantees a good tip. They had the nearby tables cleared almost immediately after customers left, you can tell they know how to deal with a busy weekend. I bet the patio and bar during the summer months is a good time.

Haven't been here for awhile so I'd try it out again. Ordered the taco grand salad. Bill ordered the lunch fajitas. Their queso is very good but expensive. $6 ish for a cup! My salad was ginormous! More than one person can eat; and, to me, salads don't taste good 2nd day. It was good. Not fabulous. I've had better for less cost. Bills fajitas were great. The lunch size was just right. He got 3, almost 4 out of it. Bottom line for us: we remembered why we don't come that often. The price is high. The food is ok. Better deals elsewhere. The service was good. I will come here for convenience.

Here early Sept. It's a hubby favorite. Loves their fajitas. Most often we're get the trio for one, it's plenty for both of us, I eat the shrimp. I get most of the sour cream, guac' & pico. On this visit I got the "Perfect" margarita & found it awesome. All fresh. Also ordered the white queso & it is rather thin, but it works. They have two salsas, a cold and a hot. I like the hot (warm). And our second dish of hot, was HOT temp' wise. Their cold is tasty with a definite chipotle flavor. Our waitress was the bartender as we always sit in the bar. She did an awesome job. There's not a lot of consistency visit to visit & we patronize both locations. This time the beans were bland and the rice was hard. Their chips are always a-okay. The pico is really fresh. Complaint: the condiment dish is always really COLD! So it really brings down the temp of the food you put it on. But their fajita platters are always piping, sizzling hot & hubby gives me the tomato slice and stir fries that meat, onion & pepper combo! I think if you go to drink beer/margaritas & listen to the music, you are going to like it. But over the years, I cannot guarantee the consistency. :)

I just can't figure out why people like this place. We moved to BA about a year ago and have been to Los Cabos a handful of times, trying a new dish each time. Every single time I leave feeling, "meh" about my dinner. It's like a Mexican restaurant version of Applebee's or something else along those lines. The latest trip my husband and I tried the queso dip (meh) and the fish tacos (meh). The queso dip is so thin, it's like it's watered down, and there's nothing to flavor it. I mean, at the very minimum, queso dip should taste like a block of velveeta with a can of Rotel - this queso dip was something you'd find in a middle school cafeteria, but watered down. The fish tacos lacked flavor and were dry. On the plus side, my toddler couldn't get enough of the rice and beans. And for heaven's sake, homemade tortillas are so easy to make!! If you're going to open a Mexican restaurant, get the basics down, and it doesn't get more basic than tortillas.

Nice little spot, usually not a fan of chain like corporate style joints, but the margaritas are to die for and the food was pretty good but its kinda pricey for nothing too great. I'll go back, but you may want to try and find a little local spot like Mexico Lindo for cheap/authentic Mexican food

I've been here many, many times--usually with friends/family on summer Saturday evenings when they have live music outside. The food is average, nothing terrible, but nothing spectacular either. It's good to go with a group and enjoy the music and drinks outside. Although, sometimes the bands can be hit or miss. They serve the full menu outside now, so that's a bonus. Lots of irritating ladies later on Saturday nights trying to "dance" and not knowing how to stfu, but if you can tolerate the eye-rolling behavior, it can be fun.

Went back again today for dinner instead of lunch, mostly wanting to just be able to put this place in the past and spend the rest of the gift card I'd been given. It was an entirely different experience. Solid service from an amazing server who was attentive, friendly and on top of things. Food was better, atmosphere was much better and I left satisfied a great deal more than previously. I was so surprised that I had to take a moment to let the manager know this was much better. The biggest difference in our order compared to before: we ordered more traditional (well, sort of) Mexican food as opposed to some of the more unique dishes. Cheeseburger Burritos, Chimichangas, ect. All were excellent and we even subbed some beans for french fries (my weakness). Also, it does seem that the size of queso we ordered from before was not correct, so that was another misunderstanding. Perhaps this place is just much better for dinner time than they are for lunch.

I so appreciate the live music on a Monday night! What a treat. We came in for drinks only. Great Rita selection. The property is lovely. We sat outside on a gorgeous summer night. The servers were sweet and prompt. Chips and salsa was fresh and warm. We ordered corn tamales which were jiffy muffins in yummy sauce. The grounds are well maintained. The interior is richely decorated and interesting to look at. It was pretty busy for a Monday night so that tells me a lot. The menu looked great. If I am back in town, I definitely will come here. Great location for the Broken Arrown hotels.

  • Cassandra F.

This place is okay. Their food is more Tex Mex, rather than food true to Los Cabos. Very Americanized.. although I will say, I love their shrimp tacos. Their flautas are okay. Their flan is great!

I have heard of this Mexican place when i first moved here but gave it a try last summer with some work friends who were her out of town. Compared to all the other locations I would have to say this one is my favorite. It is more hidden so you are not near a lot of other things and feels more open. The patio here is great and they have lots of places you can go even when it was busy. On the weekends they have bands outside and it is a great place to get drinks and dinner with friends as well. The atmosphere is really energetic and I always have a great time when I am here. I like that the bar always has open spots and the drinks are great. Make sure to at least try the patio outside. It is fabulous!! The food here is great as well! If you have read my other reviews you will catch on that i do not love Mexican but tolerate it since many people do. Any place that ha fish tacos is a place I can work with. They have a great combination for people who like all sorts of Mexican food. My boyfriend still is into the grungy Mexican food and I am more into the trendy dishes that has been jazzed up a little. Well you can get the best of both worlds here! A lot of people I know go to date nights here and have birthdays here. It is a great deal and great for all occasions. If possible definitely come to the one near Bass Pro!

I love it when I give a restaurant second chances and wind up super pleased. When I first moved to Oklahoma we ate at the Los Cabos in Jenks. It was a terrible experience, the food was awful, the place was noisy as can be and the drink prices were horrid. Tried the location in Broken Arrow, and the food was better. The place was very nice inside but the drink prices were still terrible. Decided last week to give them another shot after a trip to Bass Pro next door. What a good idea. I was totally blown away by the food this time around. The wait staff was super nice and helpful. I ordered fish tacos that were just simply amazing. My wife's food was equally as awesome. I wouldn't say it is the most authentic Mexican food around but wow, it was really really good. The cocktail prices still are a bit steep compared to other places around, but if you aren't planning to have a little party in the restaurant, you should be ok. The chipotle sauce that they bring out with the chips is top notch!!!

This was our second time at Los Cabos. Great service!! Greeted and seated in less than a minute (both times!) I have a favorite menu item at Los Cabos - The Fajita Chicken Enchiladas in sour cream sauce. Probably full of calories and whatnot but man is it creamy and delicious!! My husband got good ol' fashioned Fajitas the first time and a Carnitas Burrito tonight. He is super picky with carnitas but he said the burrito was outstanding! He said he found his new favorite menu item too! I give Los Cabos a 4/5 because everything was outstanding- however I am not a huge fan of the salsa. Not very spicy.

  • M K.

Great seafood menu, good choices. Service was fast and efficient, not hovering. I have had much better brisket tacos, maybe it was the hefty portion of avocado inside that was the problem. The shrimp tacos were excellent, fruity slaw inside the rollups (they're rolled, not folded like the brisket tacos) but they were very spicy, as in an all-out assault on one's mouth. I appreciate spicy, seek it out, the shrimp tacos at Los Cabos would make a Thai or Cajun happy. WAY too much over-seasoned (salty) rice, should have opted for black or refried beans, since the borracho were bland. Portions were too large. Likely won't go back when in Tulsa.

Food is amazing and server was even better! Food came out quick! Kudos to the back of the house too!! First time here and amazingly impressed. I love Mexican food and this place for me has the crown! Can't wait to be back!

Ive been here twice from Texas visiting relatives. The sevice is good but thats it. Chile relleno has a weird taste as does the salsa and queso. The tortilla soup was ok. My brother in-law got food poisoning from the sour cream on his enchiladas. Dont understand why this place is popular. Won't be back.

Great food everytime!!! Prices are a little high but the food quality is excellent. We love to come here in the summer time when the outside is open and the have the band Uninvited Guest playing!!!!! Fun place to hang out, have some drinks and watch the band play. Worth the money!!!

  • Jennifer L.

Fun atmosphere - sat in bar and the band was great. Server was nice, overworked. Food took 45 minutes to come out and was wrong. Kids nachos were not nachos... Kind server tried to fix. Come for drinks.

One of favorite places to eat. It is a must to have their signature drink the Cabo Bueno. I always have the tilapia los cabos, which is amazing every time. I have never had a bad experience there. The staff is great.

Los Cabos was a terrific meal. Crowded for a Thursday night but ROCKlahoma was in town and the Patriot Cup. Maybe it was just timing. The wait was 45 minutes for a table - our group (5) got seats at the bar quickly (lucky, too). Of course, free chips & salsa. An order of cheese queso came out and was steaming hot and delicious. My group had tacos of all kinds (soft) that included beef, steak, fish and chicken. Everyone raved. Me? I been kinda calorie counting (ugh!) so I had the chicken mango cranberry salad. Grilled chicken must have been marinated in sumpin' because it was crazy tasty. The salad was heaping and the mango/cranberry was a nice combo. A fruit vinegarette was the dressing and it, too, was delicious. Margueritas came in all sizes and prices. The bar was one-third stocked with tequillas. The selection included everything from low-end well brands to some Especiale Reserve that was about $250 a bottle. I did spy fruity margueritas being served 'to and 'fro. Los Cabos is worth a look and feed. Yes - good stuff!

One of my favorite places to go. I love the Yucatan tacos, Fajita chicken enchiladas, and even the mahi mahi. You can't ever go wrong with the Cabo Bueno margarita, it is a little pricey, but very very good. If it's nice weather, the patio is always a good time with live music.

  • Kelli P.

Our family loves this place! The perfect place to sit is in the back room when the window are rolled up and you can enjoy looking over the water. The food is fantastic and the portions are huge, which is good because it can be a little pricey.

    (5)
  • Lauren M.

The food is pretty mediocre. I've tried several menu items and none of them were stand-outs. Service is usually pretty good. The atmosphere can be fun, especially for people watching. Drunk cougars are drawn to the Los Cabos patio like moths to the flame!

  • Aaron B.

Good Mexican food, only issue is thier salsa has wat to much garlic a little overkill. Eat here alot, outdoor music is fantastic on good nights. Staff is always nice and the protions are Oklahoman style BIG. Free chips and salsa to hold you over, ask for the tortillias with butter....mmmm

    (4)
  • Joe J.

I love the food here , but I will admit it is a little on the pricey side. I usually get the seafood enchiladas and they are excellent but I have noticed over the last 2 years they have gotten smaller. I eat here about 2 times a month as the wife works near by and we meet up for lunch on my day off. The food is excellent, service usually is great, but it is pricey for mexican. The restaurant is usually busy for lunch but they still provide good service.

One of the best Mexican resteraubts I've been to salsa is da bomb and so is every entre I have had must try the top shelf margarita it's a bit pricy but is perfect and the atmosphere by the pond is awesome and food is always fresh and lots of entertainment on the weekend nights

  • John R.

Came on a Sunday night and it still was a 45 minute wait to sit inside. However, sitting on the patio overlooking the Arkansas River and listening to a pretty good band made the wait most enjoyable! Throw in some white queso and a few beers (was told Dos XX was real beer, not the 3.2 crap.) The servers are mostly young girls in shorts, who probably have the boys in the Oral Roberts tower secretly looking through their telescopes down at the patio. The food is okay; typical Texas Mex, or in this case Okie-Mex. It is the atmosphere that bring people into this place. The food isn't bad, it's just not fantastic. The menu is large and varied. This is a great place to bring a date, join friends, hell, even go alone. Los Cabos is one restaurant among many establishments along this river walk project.

Los Cabos is next door and adjacent to the man made pond from Bass Pro Shop. I have only been here once when I didn't have to wait 10 to 15 mins for a table. So the locals like it, and I'm sure it gets a lot of out of town traffic with being next to the Bass Pro Shop. This location has outdoor seating with an outdoor bar which is probably really nice during the summer. The restaurant is back up to the pond and has big doors that open up to it during the summer. The ambience is suiting for the restaurant and the atmosphere is always lively with excited people. I really wasn't that excited to eat here. After about 4 visits, I have finally been able to find something good to eat here. I had been to the Riverfront location and to this location several times, but have always found the food so mediocre and lame. But today I found something good. Shredded Beef Burrito- Here is the menu description... Slow roasted chuck roast, caramelized onions, chili verde sauce, and pepper jack cheese, topped with sour cream and cojita cheese. I am not a big roasted beef fan, but this burrito is packed with flavor. If I could get this with grilled steak or chicken it would be even better. The tortilla is fresh and delicious. The cojita cheese on top is so bad ass. Cojita cheese is the mexican version of parmesan cheese, it is dry and a little salty. You can see it in my picture. yelp.com/biz_photos/Yrrv… The onion and pepper jack filling is damn good. The beans and rice here are also extremely tasty. Cheesy and salty with the chili, pepper and onion flavor backing it up. My girlfriend always gets the Chicken Chimichanga which is always fantastic. I would recommend this as well. Like I said, I have had lame meals here in the past, but this was spectacular. The service is always great.

I am a fan, even though i consider the menu a little limited. My young children really like it there, as well as my wife. We are lucky if we get out of there for less then $50 though, so it is not an everyday place.

AmaZing salsa, great atmosphere but there aren't many things on their menu that I care for. The tequila lime chicken salad is the best! The service isn't to hot either.

  • SandyHu H.

Don't let the full parking lot scare you, they may be walking off their full stomach next door at BPS. We had some incredible shrimp with a garlic tamale and fish tacos. The salsa was fresh and very tasty, I asked the server to tell us about it and he said the two bowls were the same ingredients, but the darker sauce was from roasted veggies. The chips were good too! Choose a non-busy time like between lunch and dinner hour. It was Saturday when we went and we got right in and were served quickly. There was a clown there making incredible balloon animals for the kids. We'll be back! Wish we had one in our town!

I have been there 5 times and I have ordered the same meal every time, Pollo Con Chorizo. It is amazing! My family has ordered different meals and they have had no complaints. The atmosphere is always fun. The other location near the Bass Pro Shop has an outside eating area that is very nice as it overlooks a pond.

My boyfriend, my 7 year old son and I visited Los Cabos for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and we were seated immediately. I was actually surprised, expecting a wait. We were seated on the closed-in patio overlooking the Bass Pro Shop man-made lake next door. Since it's February, the shutters were down and even with the big glass windows the temperature on the patio was just right. The ambiance is very appropriate to the style of food, the lighting is perfect and the staff is smiling and super friendly. The manager stopped by once to see if we needed anything and our waitress kept our drinks refilled and checked on us often. The only reason Los Cabos did not get 5 stars from me is because of the noise level. The high ceilings and wide open layout create quite a cacophony of sound from the kitchen, customers and staff. I had to ask the waitress to repeat what she said a few times. The noise level might be appealing when the bar is in full swing on a Saturday night but not really as enjoyable on a quiet Sunday afternoon. As for the food, all three of us enjoyed our menu choices. The chips were good, the house guacamole was decent. My son ordered corn dogs which he finished, leaving the fries...only because they weren't his favorite "curly" fries. My boyfriend ordered the Carnitas Burrito. I ordered the Beef Chimichanga...not the best Chimichanga I have ever had but it was still very good and I enjoyed it. I had the sour cream sauce on the side which was mild and a really good compliment to the Chimichanga. We both ordered the Borracho beans on the side and these beans did not disappoint! I find that many restaurants over sweeten or under season their beans but the Borracho (Drunken) beans were seasoned perfectly and were my favorite part of the Los Cabos experience. My son's favorite part was the VERY talented clown making really unique balloon sculptures for the kids. =) Overall, an enjoyable meal at a decent price. We'll definitely return to the Broken Arrow Los Cabos! =)

Cool concept with appealing atmosphere, but the experience is tainted by the fact that the food just isn't very good. I am amazed that the place continues to do such a high volume of food business. Maybe it's the setting and the fact that, despite mediocre food and high drink prices, Los Cabos is kind of a fun place to spend a couple of hours. As others have said here, go with reasonable expectations and enjoy the atmosphere because that's the best thing this place has going for it.

this place was highly recommended to us by locals and 1/2 of us were disappointed. the restaurant is in a cute area where there were a ton of people! my colleagues loved the tilapia the best. my meal was so-so, i didn't have a lot of choices! the queso was delicious and the chips weren't too thick or thin (the only piece worth any points!) it's too bad we couldn't be seated outside on a beautiful day. i don't think i would go back if i ever visited tulsa again

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
